Coming back from the ancient Ni-Cad era I must do my homework and get myself familar with the world of Lithium-Polymer. The one thing I noticed when I touch the subject is the amount of "WARNING" signs used, and the horror stories of burnt cars,houses,garages...you name it. Here is when it get's confusing studying all the websites. When is a LI-PO fully charged?. Each cell is carrying 3.7 volts right. In my case a 3 cell battery delivers 11.1 volt (10C). Some sites tell us to charge to 11.1 volt others say you can charge each cell to max 4.2 (=12.6v) Which charge would give 10 minutes of flying time? Is any over 12v considered an overcharge? Right now I have it charged to 11.45 volts. I was also told (Adam's advise) never to fully charge the battery unless it will be in use shortly after. I don't dare to charge it any more before this issue is resolved.
You can tell I am still learning having brought this hobby back after a 40 year break.
