Title: Post-Pylon Race BBQ for Red Jensen
Post by: PTKohlmann on May 21, 2013, 10:31:53 PM
What better way to send Red off than with a BBQ after this Sunday's May pylon race?

Send off may be a bit of an overstatement as Red's family will still have family up here and all that, but we are ready seeing less of him as he settles into the job with NASA. In any event, Red is amenable to having a potluck style BBQ at the field this Sunday as soon as the races are over.

Hopefully it won't be too windy to cook.  So far the hallmark of the 2013 race season has been howling crosswinds;)

If you are in, please chime in with whatever you will be bringing.  I'll toss in a couple kinds of sausage for the grill and some drinks.

See you there!

Koh

Hey guys, best guess on what time the BBQ will be?
I know the plan is for after the race, but, maybe between 1 & 2?  2 & 3?
Any Idea?
Thanks!
Steve

Maybe we should only do three rounds today instead of four to make time for the BBQ?

Guys,

Just got home and had a chance to reflect on the day. I think Steve hit the nail on the head when he said that we're all part of an extended family, he's of course more right than he knows. I have made more friends through aero-modeling in general and specifically the WCF club. It's been a great ride, and I'm only just now realizing the gravity of not seeing all of you on a weekly basis. I know that wherever I end up, I will always remember the great camaraderie I've had here.

I won't be around to see all of the latest planes and good times, but I won't be completely gone either. I'll continue to check in from time to time, and will surely schedule my vacations while keeping an eye on the events calendar.

Thanks again for the great day and wonderful send off. It's pretty humbling for a guy like me who loves airplanes and feels like the luckiest in the world.......
