Title: 2015 Pylon Racing Points
Post by: Jon_Stychno on February 02, 2015, 09:34:43 PM
Points for the January race are below. Paul Kohlmann has offered to take over the monthly points calculations so he'll take it from here, thanks Paul!

Wow, looks like we have a ringer in T-28. :o Nice and close in EF-1. Gonna be a great season. ;D

Ringer in T28?  What about Warbird :o

EF-1 continues to shape up as an epic battle.

It is also worth noting the high number of casualties, considering how mild the weather was today.  If only we could hand out a few points for that, then we could boost Mr. Boatman up into the EF-1 knife fight;)

 >:( Hey John, I think your "Grand Total" racing points in the T-28 class are a little shy. ( and maybe the other ones too) Shouldn't grand total be the total of months points combined?

Heya, John

Are you barking up the wrong tree?  I think you might be looking for Stychno when I'm the new points guy.

Each racer throws out his month with the lowest points.  Now that we are two months in, we all have one month showing. We will begin to accumulate after the third race.

Not that it matters.  That snotty kid is going to beat both of us anyways ;)

 >:( Sorry Paul. It's hell getting old when CRS kicks in more and more. You have the points up to date. I'll quit complaining.

No worries, John.  I thought after your first note that you were ribbing on me for getting the points out too fast!  You guys hadn't even recharged your batteries yet!

Tony--I'm not talking to you.  And btw--the kid's bus pass ain't gonna get him to the field on time come Pylon Sunday ;D

??? Damn I can't even keep up with him in the T-28 class. But it sure is fun ribbing him.  ;D

Excellent day for racing today!  A little carnage, but mostly confined to Mr. Cole this month ;)

Here are the latest points.  Still an incredibly tight pack in EF-1.  Slightly less so in RocHobby and Warbird.  And then there is T-28.

Thanks to Jon Stychno for the $10 Fundemonium gift cards to the day's leaders of each class.  Great to see Brian Young join us again, too.

:)  Has that Orange T-28 been inspected  lately? Something sure makes it a lot faster then the rest of us !! Could it be the PILOT? I'll have to concede, it most likely is.  :'(

Sorry for the delay, fellas.  Just flew back from Germany last night and boy are my arms tired.

Looks like you guys had a good time ;)

Perhaps the best flying weather of the race season yet.  Only one crash, but it was a good one (sorry, Jon.)  But possibly best of all, Jerry Leister joined us in T28 today--congrats on making through the day with only a minor mishap!

Nice day of racing for Father's Day today.  A little carnage, though.

Check out the neck and neck action in EF1!

Pretty light turnout today, but overall a very nice day for racing.  Great to see Brian Young, too.

A couple of epic father/son battles shaping up. ;)

Great day of racing today!  A little melancholy as it was the last race at the Trentadue airfield, but alot of fun nonetheless.  And as if the heat of competition wasn't enough, it was darned hot out there!

Germone was a welcome sight--particularly when he lent me Strega to get me through the RocHobbies class.  Thanks again for that.

Amazingly, no crashes even in the 5 plane EF1 battles.  And battle it was--just check the results (attached).

I'll leave it to the race director to announce the official winners.

What a great season!!! I had a lot of fun racing the new Roc Hobbies class. The class seemed to be dominated by the Mustangs but I held in there for 2nd place with my Critical Mess. Paul K wasn't doing to bad with his Corsair either. Congrats to Jake McDonald for coming in First place, and Jake Boatman for taking third.
Drew K walked away with T-28 Class, literally. Goerge Leap took home 2nd place. Not bad for his first year of racing. Dave Mercer brought home 3rd and he didn't even show up for the last three races.
Parkzone class was shaping up to be a battle for the last race but Paul K ended up coming in First beating out son Drew who took second place. Paul Gibson got third place. another good finish from a first year racer.
EF1 was another battle between father and son. Jake McDonald had a jumped start on one of the races which ended with Tony beating him by one point for the season. And to add to some more excitement Steve Cole and Jon Stychno tied for 3rd place. I'll let Jake Mcdonald our race director announce the who won the tie.
It was a sad day as it was the last of the pylon races at Trentadue Field. And to make it even better was the 105 degree heat we where racing in. Wow it was hot.  :P
Thanks to all who raced and helped out this year. An Extra big Thank You to Jake McDonaldfor being the race director this year. With some good ole fashioned WCFlers luck we will be racing again next season.

The EF-1 class tie breaker was decided by which pilot had the most wins. And with Jon Stychno having 10 wins and Steve Cole with 11 wins.Steve takes 3rd by 1 win!

Great Season everyone, I had a lot of fun.  Looking forward to improving my skills next season!  A lot of great cooperation all season, including the already mentioned loaning of a whole plane on race day!
