At the last meeting I brought up the Idea for RC combat at the field. I used to do this back in the early 70ies with a Honker powered by a TeeDee 049 it was a blast then.
Recently  I had a chance to do it again down at Liberty.
Most of the guys were flying Battle Axes power by OS 25 engines, but some of us were in the mix with Electric foamies.
I flew my old  PZ Corsair it lasted about 3 minutes before being taken out by a Battle Axe, but I had a blast. The Idea is to get the streamer not the Plane   Wink
I looking to see if this club would have any interest in starting some combat. maybe 2 clases: electric fomies and 25 size Glow power.
attached is a link to my you tube channel showing the planes eye veiw of Combat "The Last Dogfight"  WARNING  it can make you dizzy watching it ~4 minutes long.
you can see what kind of donny brook it was.

Let me know if  anyone is interested in this activity.

Hi Larry,

This sounds like a blast!  Thanks for posting the video link, too.

Put me down for electric foamie.  Oddly, I purged my garage last year of wrecks and hangar queens. So for airplane selection I'm wide open.

What are you thinking of flying in foamie?

My personal throughts were to have 2 classes.
One being the Parkzone type Foamies, 480 size motor, cheap and disposable or easily repairable foam.
The other being a 25 size 2 stroke Glow of the type the Battle Axe is. The are other types of combat planes out there we could use.  I think even a design your own would be cool.
Here's a link to a fun combat event maybe a little large for us but you can get the idea.
This is "Total Destruction Combat in Mass

The T-28 class sounds cool. Everyone has a T-28 laying around. Let's battle!

I would be interested in giving combat a try as well.  Pick a date and let's give it a go!

After talking to a number of members on this I think maybe the first thing would be to start with a
"T-28" type class any parkzone foamies  using the same power system. ie: the PZ480 outrunner, 10 inch prop (stock) and up to a 2250MAH 30 C lipo.
5 minute rounds, 5 rounds. Scoring would be by the number of hits on any opponent’s streamer. streamers should start each round at ~15 foot long, tied to the end of a 3 foot string attached to the tail of the aircraft.  Beefing up the plane for structural protecttion using packing tape would be ok.
each pilot should have a spotter to count hits. Up to 6 planes in each round.
Now this is only a rough idea that I have come with as a place to start.
Please let me know your ideas maybe  we should have some sort of group to get this started.

How about a blind draw 2 or 3 pilots with 3x6 instead of 3x15 ?

I'll vote for T-28 combat. Mine looks like it's been in combat already anyway.

I also have a PZ Corsair whitch was damaged in its last Dog fight.
I think any thing  Of that size and power (electric) would be perfict for the Dog fights.
