Open to all AMA members! There will be four scored events. Balloon bust, egg drop, timed flight, and finally a spot landing. Bring whatever you think you can fly the best.
The balloon bust will have a small balloon  tied 10 feet above the runway and you will have three passes to try and pop it for the most points (1-5 points).
In the egg drop you will be provided with a paper cup, 1 egg, 1 popsicle stick, 2 rubber bands. It will be up to you to figure out how to successfully take off then carry the egg without breaking it. Whoever drops their egg closest to a target on the runway will win 5 points.
Timed flight starts when your wheels leave the runway. From that point you will have 1 minute to climb as high as possible. The judge will tell you to kill you engine or motor after 1 minute. Then you have to land as close as you can within a minute without any timing assistance.
Spot landing. You will have one attempt to land on a target that will be placed on the runway.
     $2 entry fee. Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd!

Guys,
As the balloon bust requires little or no wind to be successful, if there is wind I will replace that event. Here's the choices.

1st- as many loops as you can do in one minute. Timing starts the minute your wheels leave the runway

2nd- Limbo. A streamer will be stretched across the runway. You will have three attempts to fly under it. Extra points if you are inverted. Points deducted if you  hit or cut the streamer.

Which event would you rather have? I'll total up the replies and that will be the replacement.

Can we use any additional items for the egg drop? Tape, glue, etc?

No. Also everyone has to use the same plane they started with for all the events start to finish. The only exception is you may use a backup plane only if you crash your primary plane. It should be fun!!!

Loops or limbo, Ben is happy to go with either alternate. Question on the egg drop - does it need to fall out of the cup or can you tap into any of the servos?

Ben the egg drop is easy. Most opt to push the popsicle stick through the sides of the cup but at the bottom with some of the stick hanging out on both sides of the cup. Then you can use the rubber bands to hold the stick/cup  onto the fuse. The tricky part is to make a smooth take off and flight. To fast and the egg could be sucked out. To much negative G's and the egg flies free of the aircraft. Some pilots like to loop to loose their payload, some roll, but as for me I like to simply pull vertical directly over the target and let the egg roll out on its own and already over the target. John, Limbo will be yellow streamer and only for you it will be set a flame!!!!!!!!!!
