Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin,

Well I would like to thank everyone for putting in there thoughts and ideas about classes for next year. At last nights board meeting we finally made a decision, which by the way in the end was a "No Brainer". We had quit a number of people that where interested in both the Dogfighter and the EF1 classes. Smiley So after much debate for the pros and cons of both classes we where going to put it
to a vote Ef1 or Dog fighter. I'm thinking to myself "how can we make both parties happy. So I suggested that we just run both EF1 And Dog fighter.
I'm Happy to announce that we will be running both The dog fighter and EF1. Shocked Yeah Baby. so we will be running 4 classes this year.

1st Class
Stock T-28/F4U     No Changes

2nd Class
Reno 450    One Change. You must run a 9x7.5 apc prop. This is going to slow the class down to give some of the other racers a chance to step up into a faster class but not be to overwhelmed.

3rd Class
Multiplex Dogfighter.  Since we just decided last night we have not hashed out a set up yet. We will get that to you in the next few days. Cool

4th Class  National Class
Electric Formula One. All the info you need for the rules is here.

I believe we made the right decision. I'm looking forward to some new exciting racing this year and can't wait till March.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, ..........Goooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Yeh finally EF1!!!!!! But it's my option that there is still going to be a gap that is to big between the T28/Corsair class and the Reno 450 class in order to promote growth in the intermediate area. The 450 class planes are twitchy and almost unrepairable to say the least! Even with attempts to slow the class down. In my mind it's like buying a Ferrari removing the engine and installing a lawn mover engine!? Not to mention the 450 class with the rules we had last year was the most popular and fun to watch! I've said enough come on let me have it what do you guys think? Let's have some new blood in this blog!!

  Tony,

Hopefully we have picked a prop that will slow it down enough for the T28 guy's to jump up and not be to intimidated and still be fun for you and I. We will be out on Sunday to do more testing and coarse set-up for the Dog Fighter and EF1 class. Come on out and burn some electrons with us. Grin

Sweet looking planes Red! The only thing I'm wondering about is it sure seems like a short run time on the motor, speed control, and 8X8 prop? I get three minutes of flying on a 4S 2700 65C. these must be short races?

 :)Hey Tony,

Lap times are going to be pretty short. Reno 450 saw 10 second lap times so a race was 2 1/2 min. It should work out O.K. for run time. Are you going to come on Sunday. We have not seen you the last few weeks.  Grin

Great news guys, thanks for the post Adam and your dedication to getting more racers involved. Im glad to hear that the classes are starting to get finalized.

Concerning the Dogfighter class, since the power setup is still limbo, maybe a tad slower setup will encourage more of the novice crowd. I know the few planes I have seen fly are already pretty hot and are not much different than the old reno class. Good thing about all the multiplex lines are their durability and their ability to be repaired. Anyways, you guys know best, looking forward to the results.

 ;DHey Racers,

We did some more testing this weekend and it looks like we have made the final choices for props and motors and such for the classes. We just need to hash out a couple of rules regarding airframes at the next Board meeting which is tomorrow night so you won't have to wait long. Cool
Getting out there and burning some laps has got my juices flowing for the new season. The two new Classes Dogfighter, and EF1 are Heart pounding to say the least. EF1's are hitting right around 115-120 MPH!!!!! And the Dogfighter's are hitting right around 100MPH. Damn fast for 3 cells. Shocked

More to come
