Moonlight Float Fly
Tuesday, 23 October 2007
Image
A lot of people showed up at the "Moonlight Float Fly", held at SAL Lake on Saturday, October 20th, but not many actually flew. The winds were howling at 20 miles per hour, which kept many planes grounded. A few WCF members threw caution to the wind, (literally) and tried their hand at battling the weather conditions. Brian Germone started the day with a Tiger 60 on floats, and left with a bag of balsa. He definitly gets the "Determined to Fly at All Costs" award. See gallery for pictures. A few members stayed for actual "moonlight flying", and Jon Stychno didn't disappoint with his Tribute decked out in lights. Thanks to Sid Maxwell for putting on the event, and bringing the Starbucks Coffee.

Trek to Ukiah
Tuesday, 23 October 2007
Over 50 pilots showed up at the Ukiah Propbusters flying field in Hopland for the second annual "Trek to Ukiah". The weather was perfect, with the temperature in the 70's and hardly any wind all day. A special thanks to the Propbusters for hosting the event, and giving us access to their beautiful facility, complete with a manicured grass runway. Be sure to check out the pictures, click here for the event gallery.
